Jiu Bian and Song Yu Bei Qiu #6:
Frost, dew and grief mix as they descend together (poem 6, line 1)
--
After the frost and dew come sleet and snow. I am about to die but still I cannot return to my lord. I cannot select the easy way out, but instead write verse. (Poem 7) I love the example of excellent advisors, but do not wish honor in an impure age. I would like to enjoy nature, but I am impatient and fear I cannot survive the winter.
