Title in Shen Qi Mi Pu (1425):
Riding clouds while crossing a river (凌雲渡江 Ling Yun Du Jiang)
Here in the palace edition, under the general title 秋鴻 Qiu Hong, the following is written:
Could this "世謂" suggest that the tablature here is earlier than that of Wugang Qinpu (1546), which came down through a separate tradition? And does "riding clouds" (1696.70 凌雲 lingyun) in the 1425 title for Section 1 suggest that Zhu Quan did not know of the painting, while the painter knew only of the shorter title? On the other hand, does the attribution to Guo Chuwang suggest that Zhu Quan revised some old tablature for his own handbook, elaborating some of the titles (further comment)?
As for the tablature, that of 1425 is identical to here.
The 1546 tablature is slightly different.
