Yi Hai, like Zhi Bai, studied qin from Yi Zhong. At present most information here about Yi Hai is in Xu Jian, Qinshi Chubian Chapter 6a1 (p.85). He seems to be associated mostly with Shaoxing, but is also mentioned in connection with Ningbo.³ Qinshu Daquan, e.g., Folio 20A, #43, has poems by Ouyang Xiu about Zhi Bai; this is different from what is here.

This seems to be largely a quote from 夢溪筆談 Mengxi Bitan. After this the text seems to relate a discussion between Ouyang Xiu and Su Dongpo concerning Yi Hai. It thus continues,

Here it seems to reference a poem called 義海論琴詩 Yi Hai Discusses the Qin.
