Kongtong Yin 1

Commentary on Kongtong Yin in Xilutang Qintong is combined with that of #124 Kongtong Wen Dao. The title Kongtong Yin occurs, without commentary, as an unrelated melody in two later handbooks.2

1. Kongtong Yin 崆峒引
8334.1 kongtong. Name of mountain; Zhuangzi (who calls it 空同) says the Yellow Emperor discussed the Dao here. Name of mountains in Jiangxi, Gansu (several?) and Sichuan; island off Shandong.

See Zha Fuxi's index pp. 22/-/-. The three listed versions are,

  1. 西麓堂琴統 Xilutang Qintong (1525; above)
  2. 德音堂琴譜 Deyintang Qinpu (1691; QQJC, XII/492)
  3. 徽言秘旨訂 Huiyan Mizhi Ding (1692; QQJC, X/257).

The first, in three sections and using lowered third string tuning, has no relation to the latter two, which are both in 8 sections and use standard tuning.
