Li Jingxian

The biography quotes a poem by Ouyang Xiu that is also included in Qinshu Daquan, Folio 20A, #40. QSDQ Folio 20A, #39 is also a poem by Ouyang Xiu about Li Jingxian, but the biography here omits it. This other poem begins as follows (note the mention of the sound being like water flowing over rocks),

無為道士三尺琴，中有萬古無窮殷。
音如石上寫流水....(total: [7+7] x 4)

The second quotation in the biography here, based on the longer version included in Qinshu Daquan, Folio 17, #57 (original text), seems to come from a letter written in 1189 CE by Su Dongpo. It may also be called "書文忠贈李師琴詩". It begins, "與次公聽賢師琴" (次公 Cigong 16347.17???). This perhaps suggests that the 賢師 revered master mentioned is in fact Li Jingxian.

The original essay in Qin Shi Bu says:

Li Jingxian was a 無為軍道士 Daoist Master of Inactive Battle. Ouyang Xiu conferred a poem on him that said,

李師琴紋如臥蛇，一彈使我三咨嗟.
....歸袖風中斜。(Total length: 151 characters)

Later Su Dongpo (wrote a letter about listening to Li?)

與次公同聽賢師琴 Together with Cigong together listened to the qin of their 賢師 revered master. 賢求詩 The revered one requested a poem. 倉卒無以應次公言古人賦詩皆歌所學何必有云因屬東坡書此詩以贈焉.
