Footnotes (Shorthand references are explained on a
separate page)
1.
Silk List: Qin melodies others recorded using silk strings
In process: does not include melodies only in 絕響 Jue Xiang or 絲桐神品 Sitong Shenpin.
For another further list other than my own there is also the page with Contents of the 陳長林 古琴專集 Chen Changlin Guqin Album (2013; 8 CDS: 105 tracks). It largely consists of his reconstructions of melodies from a variety of handbooks over different periods, so many of the titles are different from those here.
For my own recordings see next footnote.

2.
My recordings
My own recordings, listed separately, are almost exclusively of my own reconsructions; almost all of them are also the earliest published version of that particular title. As for recordings by others of the same titles, almost all are of later versions. This is sometimes hard to distinguish, or at least to outline here. For example, at the time I recorded the 13 melodies for my CD Music Beyond Sound, or the 64 melodies in my 6 CD Shen Qi Mi Pu set, very few of those versions had been played by others. Since then a number of people have done their own versions and even more have copied those reconstructions done by others (Jiu Kuang being a typical example of this). In general this list should probably be separated into three parts: traditional melodies, reconstructed melodies and newly created melodies/compositions.
